the garden monthly: march 2025
TL;DR: We're putting the finishing touches on Act 2. We launched a cookbook for devs, saw 10% of transactions maxing out swap limits, and hit 10k transactions on Act 2 testnet.

hola gardeners! 🌸

If you celebrate it, it's cherry blossom season; go touch some grass! The team has been hard at work in March prepping for our own bloom season, making sure Act 2 is ready to completely replace v1 and is bulletproof while polishing our libraries for the next wave of integrators.

canon event

We crossed 10k transactions on the Act 2 testnet on March 19th. Why are people playing with it so much? Maybe because it's just that good.  👀

big items

  • 10% of all transactions on Garden are 5 BTC transactions, the current upper limit for a single transaction.
  • Launched a cookbook with recipes to build on Garden. We've added the first recipe for creating a Bitcoin bridge (what we know best), with more recipes on the way.
  • Since going live on Monad on Feb 19th, we've crossed 900+ txs moving test funds in and out of the chain. The interesting part? It's not just gardeners bridging to/from Bitcoin; interactions are also from chains like Bera, Citrea, Base and Eth Sepolia. Multi-chain testing is in full swing.

technical updates

  • Optimized our Bitcoin watcher to handle chain reorgs, resulting in reduced calls to the indexer and database. More efficient, more reliable.
  • Implemented session keys that let you swap on Garden without needing to connect an EVM wallet for non-EVM swaps. (think SOL <> BTC)
  • Refactored backend code to make it more readable & standardized as the team scales.
  • Starknet testnet and Solana localnet support added to garden.js. Shhhh! You didn't hear it from us. 🤫

other cool stuff

  • If you're wondering what a day in the life of a gardener looks like, check this out
  • On March 8th, we took over NYC. Don't believe? See for yourselves.
  • Dude got invited to a spaces with Sats Terminal and BIMA to talk about Rune, Ordinals, and Bitcoin bridging. He spoke about how 99% of BTC trading volume is on centralized exchanges, and he's on a mission to change that.
  • Something dark is coming to the Garden UI; night gardeners rejoice!
